Each year, Smock and his colleagues conduct an online survey and a series of interviews with executives from large and medium-sized law firms. Among other things, they ask questions about financial performance, hot practice areas and strategic initiatives. Seventy-four (74) business managers participated in the online survey and forty-three (43) participated in the interviews. Here are some highlights: Twice a year, Patrick publishes a series of excellent articles in a magazine he calls International Review, and he distributes a printed copy to some of the leaders of the largest law firms. It also provides us with an electronic version that we can include on the MPF website and share with our readers. The articles entitled “Are you developing a star culture?” and “Obstacles to initiating change” are particularly interesting in this issue. Twice a year, McKenna Associates publishes a magazine called International Review. Each issue strives to include a “balanced mix of contributions on strategy, business, and corporate leadership,” and this issue features articles by David Maister, Patrick McKenna, and others. It is distributed in print form to CEOs of U.S.
and Canadian companies with more than 50 lawyers. In the future, we are pleased to be able to provide our readers with a PDF version of the magazine. As always, John Smock and his colleagues have produced an accurate and insightful report on the legal services market, primarily from the perspective of the mid-market law firm. This year, they conducted 35 interviews with managing partners and managing directors of law firms in the United States. Here are some of the highlights: Koral F. It includes data and trends in 11 areas, including demographics, law school, the judiciary, technology, and, of course, the pandemic. The report is 140 pages long and the first chapter is devoted to the impact of the pandemic on lawyers and law firms. Now in its tenth year, Altman Weil`s annual survey documents the forces reshaping the legal services landscape and sheds light on how the nation`s largest law firms are responding. 398 law firms with 50 or more lawyers participated, including half of the country`s largest law firms. The full investigation report is 128 pages long and includes numerous tables and graphs. The most digestible summary is only fifteen pages long. Key Findings: During the year, Smock Law Firm Consultants published and distributed a series of reports on four major U.S. legal markets. The markets they cover are Chicago, New York, Cleveland and Atlanta. To develop these reports, John and his colleagues conducted numerous interviews with executive partners and corporate directors to learn more about current trends and events and hear their predictions for the future. The annual survey highlights the most commonly considered examples of good practice, highlighting the highest-rated planning QCs with a proven track record, as well as the most respected juniors and lawyers under the age of 35.
Anjoli Foster climbed seven places in last year`s ranking. Described by one lawyer as “very approachable and empathetic”, Foster notably represented Wokingham City Council in the initial planning inquiry to examine the impact of Covid-19 on housing supply.
