Throughout our history, Risi Stone Systems has been the pioneer and leader in the segmental retaining wall industry. In our pursuit of excellence Risi Stone Systems is committed to utilizing the state-of-the-art methods, the best-available technology and latest developments in research to provide our customers with the best products and service available.

Risi Stone Systems developed the first segmental retaining wall system in the early 1970's. The concept was simple. A retaining wall could be constructed by stacking mass produced concrete modules that were locked together using an integrated tongue and groove connection.

Soon after additional soil technology was combined with the existing systems and we expanded our product lines to include crib retaining wall structures. At this time computer technology was introduced to retaining walls with the development of The Wall Manager^®. This was the first computer program developed to aid in the design and estimation of our segmental retaining wall systems.

In the late 1980's, geogrid reinforcement technology evolved, and became widely available. We quickly identified this technology as an important tool for our customers, allowing them to construct higher walls with greater flexibility in their design. We actively embraced and even helped to develop this technology within our industry. 

To help with the design of geogrid reinforced retaining walls we developed RisiWall^®. We have continually updated RisiWall^® to ensure our customers have access to all the latest advances in the industry.

Today, we continue with our active pursuit of technology. With the development of our web site in 1995 and the latest update you are viewing today, we are continuing this heritage. The use of technology, like the internet, will ensure our customers have access to the best materials and design aids available so they can construct retaining walls of uncompromising strength and character.
